I'd seen this movie in a theater in Houston last April, and it was chilling to come out of there to see Daniel chainsmoking with some friend of his. I wanted to talk to the guy, at least thank him for what he's been going through and not giving up music, but it didn't feel right, evenas the other moviegoers had no qualms with the idea. I watched it again on DVD a couple months ago, and damn, what a small, small world this is. In the extras section of the disc, there're those audio diaries -- and the one titled "River of No Return Spiel" set my bones to chill the moment I was listening to it. Turns out that the only time I ever went to Astroworld happened to be that same summer he worked there, and I went on that ride. And I remember being there in awe of this guy, there was something in him that completely set him apart from any adult who at the time had ever stood near the six year old boy I was then. He was terrifying, but you couldn't stop looking at him. I can't believe how small this world is . . .

No, thank YOU Wayne . . . It's nice to hear people still talking about him and trying to spread word of his talent.

Anyway, with these songs and the film, I don't know about you, but, I sure hope Daniel finds true love in the end.

Take care, and thanks.
